Tinuku Travel ~ Taman Sari or Taman Sari Keraton Yogyakarta or Tamansari Ngayogyakarta or also called the Water Castle is a ruins site of the palace gardens of the Royal Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat built by King Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono I in 1758-1765.

Castles architectural complex used in 1765 until 1812 occupying an area of over 10 hectares with approximately 57 mass of buildings such as swimming baths, hanging bridges, water canals, artificial lakes as well as artificial islands and underwater hallway.

Historians have put forward the theory of Taman Sari built on the former an old palace building is called "Pesanggrahan Garjitawati" founded by King Susuhunan Paku Buwono II as a place to rest the horses prior to Imogiri. Also some buildings indicate Taman Sari serves as the last bastion when the palace was attacked by the enemy.

The architectural design was made by Portuguese who nicknamed Demang Tegis. Tumenggung Mangundipuro appointed as head of the project and all development costs borne by Tumenggung Prawirosentiko the Regent Madiun. In the midst of the leadership development project was taken over by Prince Notokusumo after Mangundipuro resigned.

Artificial lake called "Segaran" is the most exotic places, has ylang tree garden and serves as a fish pond where the Sultan and the royal family are often boating. In the middle there is an artificial island in the form of a two-story building.

Artificial island reachable by boat or through a tunnel under water. In the island contains a two-story buildings that are often used king to meditate and a well hung above the ground adjacent to the building shaped like a circular ring.

Among the second floor has a niche, in the central part of the building open, four stairs up and meet in the middle. The fourth meeting of the level spawns a ladder to the second floor. Under the four ladder is a small pool to wash hands.

The main gate facing the west and extends to the east. Gates have some space, decorated with reliefs of birds and flowers that show the date of completion construction of Taman Sari in 1765.

To the east of the main gate is octagonal courtyard and a two-story tower, rows of giant flower pots and doors for connecting with other places toward a bathing pool for the king, the queen, concubines and princesses.
