Tinuku Travel ~ Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Palace or often also called Yogyakarta Royal Palace or Kraton Jogja is the official palace of the kingdom of Yogyakarta Sultanate and located right in the city center as a whole landscape of urban planning.

The palace complex is the official home of Yogyakarta kings and place to run the state activities by Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X. Palace built by Pangeran Mangkubumi (Prince Mangkubumi) official title Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono I few months after the Giyanti Agreement in 1755.

On June 20, 1812, Stamford Raffles led 1,200 British soldiers to attack suddenly and hit the walls of the city. Yogyakarta fell and palace burned. Total booty from the palace at the time of gold worth £15,000, jewelery and cash worth £500,000.

Most forms of the palace was restored and expanded by Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono VIII who ruled from 1921 to 1939. In 1876 and 2006 the city of Yogyakarta was hit by huge earthquake and then rebuilt after the devastation.

Every Tuesday, visitors can watch an Jemparingan archery contest is Mataram empire style archery in Kemandhungan Kidul. Jemparingan held to celebrate the coronation of the king. The uniqueness of this jemparingan is every participant must wear traditional Javanese clothes and archery in a sitting position.

Batik Museum was inaugurated by Sultan Hamengku Buwono X in 2005 for storing various collections of batik cloth Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono VIII to Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X. The museum also displayed several collections of gifts from batik businessmen in Yogyakarta and other areas.

An old well was built by Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono VIII unbiased coin scattering. Keraton Yogyakarta also organize courses and study room Javanese culture such as read and write the Hanacaraka alphabet, classical dance, gamelan and more.
